Litchfield Elementary "The Thriller Medley" Session 2

Be apart of The Litchfield Tradition . A Little Drama has been performing at the Litchfield Fall Carnival for over 18years

Our mission is to inspire creativity and passion for the performing arts in our community.

Performance is on Friday Oct. 24th

In joining this program you agree that your child maybe videotaped and be used for any promotional purpose. In consideration of the acceptance of my childs entry I do hereby for and on my behalf of myself and my heirs and legal representative release and forever discharge the Litchfield School District and A Little Drama and any instructors of any harm or injuries which may be suffered by me or my child in connection with A Little Drama. I covenant not to sue and agree to assume all risk associated with my participation in this program.*refunds will not be given after participation in class.

The Benefits of Theatre in Elementary School

  • Self-Confidence: Taking risks in class and performing for an audience teach students to trust their ideas and abilities. This confidence will apply in nearly every aspect of their future.
  • Cooperation/Collaboration: Theatre combines the creative ideas and abilities from its participates
  • Imagination: In s world addicted to technology, theatre provides an outlet for making creative choices. Thinking new ideas, and interpreting the material in expressive ways that are the essence of drama
  • Empathy & Tolerance: Acting roles from different situation, time periods, and cultures promotes compassion and tolerance for others
  • Concentration: Playing, practicing, and performing develops a sustained focus of mind, body and voice which helps with other areas of life including school
  • Communication Skills: Drama enhances verbal and nonverbal expression ideas. It improves voice projection, articulation, fluency of language, and persuasive speech.
  • Problem Solving: Students learn to communicate the who, what, where, when, and why to the audience. Improvisation fosters quick-thinking solutions, which leads to greater adaptability in life 
  • Trust: the social interaction and risk taking in drama develop trust in self, others, and the process.
  • Memory: Rehearsing and performing the words, movement, and cues strengthen this skill like a muscle
