A Little Drama is a theatre arts and dance program for K-5th students that develops communication skills, expands creative thought, advances social interaction through song, dance and acting with peers. A Little Drama can offer a wide variety of Theatre Arts/Dance events. My program can be personalized to fit all students goals and needs.
Ms. Shelly has dedicated her life to the Theatre Arts and Dance field. With a Bachelor of Arts degree and a rich history of performing in over 50 Theatre, Musical, and Dance productions, her favorite role was Kristine in "A Chorus Line". Ms. Shelly brings a wealth of experience to her endeavors. In 2007, she founded A Little Drama aiming to improve confidence, creativity, and public speaking skills in children. Her classes and productions involve 50-100 K-12 students from various schools in Arizona, and she has also tailored classes for students with Autism and Down Syndrome.
Ms. Shelly has directed beloved productions such as The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, Snow White, and Peter Pan. Additionally, she has written and produced two original Musicals: The Little Surfer and Mixed Up Fairy Tales. A highlight of her program is the Thriller Medley performance, a tradition spanning over 17 years at school events and carnivals. Her themed routines, whether for winter holidays, centennial celebrations of Litchfield Park, or parades, have become a staple for many students.
As an accomplished dancer, Ms. Shelly holds the title of Midwestern Ballroom Champion in both Smooth and Latin dance. She has also contributed to the Litchfield School District elective program as a Theater teacher. Her vision is to enrich young minds through the performing arts, enhancing skills that foster a successful life and a creative environment for students and the community.
